In 2024, the total grain production in China reached a historic high of 706.5 mln tons, up 11.09 mln tons (+1.6%) compared to the previous year. The main types of grains involved in the sample survey were rice, wheat and corn.

The sown area of grains in China amounted to 119,319 thsd hectares, up 351 thsd hectares (+0.3%) compared to the previous year, which contributed to the increase in production by almost 20%.

The planting structure was adjusted, a system of inter-row planting was developed, and abandoned land was reclaimed. The central government continued to increase support for grain producers. The minimum purchase price for wheat and early Indian rice continued to increase, subsidies to corn and soybean producers and rice subsidies remained stable, and insurance of the full cost and income of these three crops was fully covered by the state.

Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
