Grain harvest in Ukraine reached 54 million tons

As of February 23, grain and pulses were threshed on 11.27 million hectares in Ukraine, which is 98% of the planned amount. This area harvested 54.14 million tons of grain with an average yield of 4.8 tons/ha, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reported.
As noted, the main unharvested areas remain under corn, which is still being harvested – as of February 23, the grain was threshed on 4 million hectares (95%), of which 26.79 million tons were harvested at a yield of 6.7 tons per hectare. A week earlier, the gross grain harvest was estimated at 26.53 mln tons. “As of this date, farmers in Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions have fully completed harvesting of all crops. At the same time, Poltava region harvested the most grain as of the specified date – 5.83 million tons,” the Ministry added.
