Governments of Poland and Ukraine to meet on March 28 in Warsaw to resolve border blockade

Government officials from Poland and Ukraine will meet in Warsaw on March 28 to resolve the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border. This was announced at a press conference by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
“I would like everyone to realize at what historical moment we have to make decisions (we are talking about the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia – ed.) when we talk about our relations with our neighbors, our position, as well as the internal situation, the situation on the border with Ukraine, farmers, protests. We must find a common solution to preserve the interests of Polish farmers,” Tusk said.
The day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Ukraine’s partners in Europe, especially Poland, regarding the situation on the Ukrainian-Polish border. According to him, he instructed the Ukrainian government to be on the border between the two countries in the near future, by February 24. Zelenskyy invited the Polish prime minister and president to support this dialogue. He also appealed to the European Commission to have a representative attend the meeting.
For his part, Polish President Andrzej Duda said he supported the idea of a meeting between the Ukrainian and Polish governments and representatives of the European Commission to resolve the situation on the border.
