Germany increased exports of rapeseed oil in 2022/23 MY
The supply of rapeseed oil from Germany increased again in 2022/23 marketing year after a significant decline in the previous year. Last season, the country exported just under 1.3 mln tonnes of rapeseed oil, up 19% compared to the previous season.
The Netherlands was the largest recipient of rapeseed oil from Germany in 2022/23 with 710 400 tons, albeit for global re-export. In the previous season, exports to the Netherlands were less than 19% lower.
Belgium ranks second with 110,800 tons. The Kingdom received about 28% more than in 2021/22 MY.
Denmark, France, and Norway follow as important destinations. France purchased about 58 400 tons (-10%) and thus also remained an important market, while about 72 100 tons were exported to Denmark (+12%). However, the most significant growth was recorded in deliveries to Norway: 53,600 thousand tons, more than doubling the volume of the previous year.
China, Sweden, the UK, Finland and Brazil also received significantly more than in 2021/22 MY, while Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland saw fewer shipments.
