Winter crop conditions in France in 2026 have reached their best levels in the past three years, according to FranceAgriMer. As of February 9, 91% of soft wheat, 88% of winter barley, and 87% of hard wheat were rated in good or excellent condition, significantly surpassing previous seasons’ figures.
These results are well above last year’s levels, when the same indicators stood at 73% for soft wheat, 68% for winter barley, and 84% for hard wheat. Experts attribute the strong crop potential to favorable weather conditions and timely field management.
Analysts note that the positive condition of the winter crops creates favorable prospects for a successful 2026 harvest and strengthens France’s export potential on global grain markets.
