Former owner of Soufflet Group dies at the age of 95

Michel Soufflet, chairman of the supervisory board of Soufflet Group, died on Sunday, September 8, at the age of 94, Lest eclair reports.
Michel Soufflet began managing the company in 1957, after the death of his father.
During his ten years at the helm of the family business, Michel Soufflet gave it a status. He built a port elevator in Rouen to develop grain exports, first to the European Community and then to third countries.
He subsequently established subsidiaries in the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands.
In 1980, Soufflet Group became the third largest French grain exporter and began to eclipse giants in the sector such as Cargill and Dreyfus on the international stage.
In 2001, Michel’s son Jean-Michel took over the leadership of the family group. In December 2021, Jean-Michel resold the group to the InVivo cooperative union, resulting in the formation of an agro-industrial giant and one of the largest operators in the global agricultural market.
