Forecast of wheat harvest in India reduced to 106 million tons

The Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (FAS USDA) has lowered its forecast for the wheat harvest in India in 2023/2024 season to 106 mln tonnes. Despite the deterioration of the forecast, wheat production will be 2 mln tons more than this season. The new crop will be harvested in March-April.
FAS USDA estimates the export potential of Indian wheat next season at 1 mln tons. In the current season, India can export 5.377 million tons.
