Increased precipitation in Argentina, a gradual decrease in rain in Brazil, and very warm, humid weather in the United States will help improve crop conditions and reduce the impact of weather factors on soybean and corn prices.

Heavy rains continue in central Brazil, supporting a record soybean harvest, but are already causing delays in the harvesting, transportation and planting of the second crop of safrinha corn. According to AgRural, as of February 12, 2026, soybeans in Brazil have been harvested on 16% of the area, compared to 15% a year ago. In the state of Mato Grosso, 39% has been harvested, while in Paraná, only 14%.

Heavy rains will continue until the end of the week, but their intensity is decreasing, which will allow for faster harvesting and planting. Some southern regions have reduced soil moisture reserves for this time of year, but rainfall is expected to increase again by the end of February. Forecasts indicate that the rains will spread to southern regions of Brazil this week and next, with their further movement to Argentina.

In Argentina, rainfall will continue in the central and northern regions throughout this week. In the southern regions, which remain drier, there will be less rain, but more widespread rainfall is expected by the end of the week. The rains of the last two weeks have improved the condition of the crops, reducing stress on the plants, and local exchanges have even raised their harvest forecasts after several stages of decline.

In the US, the southern regions, the Midwest, and the central and southern Plains were affected by warm weather with temperatures up to 10-15 °C and heavy rains. This contributes to the accumulation of moisture in the soil, but may provoke early awakening of crops before possible return frosts. Temperatures are forecast to drop to seasonal norms and precipitation will decrease next week.

In China, crops are in winter dormancy, but in recent months, winter wheat and rapeseed fields in the southeast of the country have experienced a shortage of rainfall. Therefore, the amount of rain forecast in the coming weeks will be critical for the continued development of the crops.
