European producers increased oilseed processing volumes in 2024
According to the European Association of Vegetable Oil Producers (FEDIOL), in 2024, the volume of oilseed processing in the EU and the UK reached 39.24 million tons, which is 3.2% more than in 2023.
Rapeseed processing during the period under review was 18.9 million tons (19.4 million tons in 2023), soybeans 14.1 (13.39) million tons, and sunseed 6.25 (5.25) million tons.
The total processing volumes reported by FEDIOL member companies represent about 80% of total soybean, sunflower and rapeseed processing in the EU-27 + UK.
Processing capacity decreased from 45.42 million tons in 2023 to 45.12 million tons in 2024. The reported capacity reflects only the reported capacity of FEDIOL member companies.
