EU vegetable oil imports have fallen by 10% since the start of the season
From the start of the current season (July 1, 2025) to December 16, EU countries imported 2,356,200 tonnes of vegetable oils, a 10% decrease compared to the same period last season, according to the Zerno On-Line agency, citing the European Commission.
Palm sunflower oil imports over the twenty-four weeks of the current season fell to 1,354,500 tonnes (-12% compared to last season), while sunflower oil imports fell to 776,500 tonnes (-33%). Soybean oil imports increased to 286,100 tonnes (+155%), and rapeseed oil imports to 225,200 tonnes (+96%).
Sunflower, soybean and rapeseed oils are imported in the current season mainly from Ukraine (717.8 thousand tons, 139.7 thousand tons and 162.7 thousand tons), palm oil – from Indonesia (374.0 thousand tons) and Malaysia (369.7 thousand tons).
