EU soft wheat exports approaching 15 mln tons

The volume of soft wheat exports from the EU in the 2024/25 season, which started in July, reached 14.92 million tonnes as of March 16. This is 35% less than the same period last season. Barley exports fell by 19% to 3.6 million tonnes, according to European Commission data.
Romania remains the leader with 4.33 million tonnes, Lithuania with 2.07 million tonnes, Latvia with 1.76 million tonnes, Germany with 1.75 million tonnes, France with 1.56 million tonnes, and Bulgaria with 1.42 million tonnes.
The list of main buyers of wheat from the EU includes Nigeria (2.17 million tonnes), Morocco (1.7 million tonnes), Algeria (1.16 million tonnes), the United Kingdom (1.05 million tonnes) and Egypt with 935.53 thousand tonnes. tons.
Data on grain exports from Italy for the last 14 weeks are incomplete. For France, there are gaps in the data set from the beginning of the 2024 calendar year, for Bulgaria and Ireland – from the beginning of the MY 2023/24, the EU materials specify.
