EU milling wheat exports fell by 37%

From the beginning of the current season (July 1, 2024) to March 4, EU countries exported 14.697 million tons of wheat and its processed products, which is 36% less than in the same period last season. This was reported by the Zerno On-Line agency with reference to the European Commission.

Romania ranks first in wheat exports among EU countries during the period under review, having supplied 3,978.6 thousand tons of soft and 113.3 thousand tons of hard wheat to foreign markets. Lithuania ranks second (2,014.7 thousand tons).
France ranks first in soft wheat flour exports (45.1 thousand tons). The Netherlands follows closely behind (45.0 thousand tons).
The largest buyers of soft wheat of European origin in the current season were Nigeria (2,070.4 thousand tons), Morocco (1,596.4 thousand tons), Great Britain (1,018.1 thousand tons), Algeria (1,008.4 thousand tons) and Egypt (882.4 thousand tons).
Durum wheat was exported mainly to Tunisia (181.0 thousand tons) and Algeria (113.0 thousand tons).
