EU increased purchases of rapeseed in 2022/23 MY
From the beginning of the season to the end of January, the EU countries increased their imports of rapeseed to almost 4.5 million tons, according to the latest data from experts from the European Commission (EC). In the same period last year, almost 1.5 times less oilseeds were purchased – 3.1 million tons.
As follows from the materials of the EC, in the last week of January (23-29th), over 217 thousand tons of oilseeds were imported into the bloc countries.
The main suppliers in the reporting period were Ukraine and Australia – 2.58 million tons and 1.55 million tons, respectively.
At the same time, the dynamics of export deliveries of rapeseed from the EU in MY 2022/23 remained practically unchanged. Since the beginning of the season, 389 thousand tons of this crop have been sold (+1% per year). Most of it was shipped to the UK – 282 thousand tons, as well as to Pakistan (47 thousand tons) and the USA (40 thousand tons).
