EU increased imports of oilseeds and processed products by 7%

From the beginning of the current season (July 1, 2024) to May 21, EU countries imported 43.3 million tons of oilseeds and their processed products, which is 7% more than in the same period last season. This was reported by the Zerno On-Line agency with reference to the European Commission.

Soybeans are mainly supplied to the European Union from the USA (5.527 million tons) and Brazil (4.578 tons). The main suppliers of rapeseed are Australia (2.819 million tons) and Ukraine (2.369 million tons). Sunflower is imported mainly from Moldova (0.288 million tons), vegetable oils from Ukraine, soybean meal from Brazil (8.490 million tons), sunflower and rapeseed meal from Ukraine (1.379 million tons and 0.173 million tons).
