EU grain exports fell by 33% this season

From the beginning of the current season (July 1, 2024) to February 11, the EU countries exported 19.7 million tons of grain and its processed products, which is 33% less than in the same period last season.

In the current season, Romania is the top grain exporter among the EU countries, having exported 3 658.5 thsd tonnes of soft wheat, 113.3 thsd tonnes of durum wheat, 1 504.2 thsd tonnes of barley and 416.5 thsd tonnes of corn.
The main export destinations of European origin soft wheat this season were Nigeria (2 013.3 thsd tonnes), Morocco (1 460.5 thsd tonnes), Great Britain (973.2 thsd tonnes), Algeria (886.5 thsd tonnes) and Egypt (882.4 thsd tonnes).
The largest buyers of barley were Saudi Arabia (702.3 thousand tons), Morocco (397.8 thousand tons), Algeria (328.0 thousand tons) and China (313.1 thousand tons).
Corn was exported mainly to the UK (646.7 thousand tons).
