EU cuts corn harvest forecast

The European Commission has lowered its forecast for gross grain harvest in the European Union countries in the 2025/2026 season from 280.3 million tons to 279.6 million tons.
The forecast for soft wheat production has been raised from 126.3 million tons to 126.6 million tons, and for barley from 51.7 million tons to 52.3 million tons. The estimate for the future corn harvest has been lowered from 65.0 million tons to 63.8 million tons.
In the current season, EU countries harvested 255.2 million tons of grain, including 111.7 million tons of soft wheat, 49.1 million tons of barley, and 59.6 million tons of corn.
The European Commission estimates the export potential of grain crops in the 2025/2026 season at 45.3 million tons, including 29.8 million tons of soft wheat, 0.9 million tons of durum wheat, 10.1 million tons of barley, and 4.2 million tons of corn.
