Egypt’s soybean imports hit record high in 2025
Soybean imports into Egypt have reached a record high amid growth in the poultry sector.
Purchases are being made by the private sector.
The total volume of soybean imports arriving at Egyptian ports in 2025 reached approximately 5 million tons, according to Abdul Aziz El Said, Chairman of the Poultry Department at the Chamber of Commerce.
This is a record volume, and imports are expected to reach between 5.5 and 6 million tons this year.
He attributes the growth to the development of the country’s poultry sector and the expansion of soybean processing facilities.
