Corn is falling in price on the Ukrainian market: traders’ demand has fallen and prices for new and old crops have dropped
Prices for old-crop corn on the Ukrainian market have declined significantly over the past week. The reason is a decrease in purchasing activity by traders who have already formed the necessary stocks. It is reported by Spike Brokers.
“Another factor was the fact that Ukrainian corn is too expensive on the world market, which makes it difficult for it to compete with other origins, such as American or Brazilian grain,” analysts say.
In the ports of Odesa, corn of the old harvest lost 4-5 dollars in price and was traded at 236-238 USD/t on DAP terms. The new crop also fell in price: its cost is currently 200-202 $/t DAP.
The latest price indications for the 2024 harvest:
- DAP Ukraine (Odesa): 236-238 $/t
- DAP Germany (NW): 223-228 €/t
- DAP Netherlands (SE): 220-224 €/t
Price indications for the 2025 harvest:
- DAP Ukraine (Odesa): 200-202 $/t
- DAP Germany (NW): 200-202 €/t
- DAP Netherlands (SE): 198-200 €/t
