Ukraine produced 78.7 million tons of grain and oilseeds in the 2024/25 marketing year, which ended on June 30.

This was stated by the President of the Ukrainian Grain Association Mykola Gorbachev during a meeting with journalists regarding the results of the season.

He emphasized that the harvest would have been much higher if about 20% of Ukrainian agricultural land had not been temporarily occupied as a result of the war with the Russian Federation.

“But even with such results in tonnage, I want to say that we earned more money from exports than last year. This is due to the fact that prices were higher this year,” Mykola Gorbachev clarified, adding that the cost of logistics in the MY 2024/25 was also low, which allowed agricultural producers to obtain good financial results.

According to the President of the UGA, in the marketing year that has already passed, 46.7 million tons of grains and oilseeds were exported, excluding processed products, excluding cake, meal and oil.

According to Mykola Gorbachev, this is a pretty good result.

“If we look at the prospects for next year, we predict an increase in the production of grains and oilseeds by more than 4 million tons – up to 83 million tons. We think that the increase will occur primarily due to corn,” he emphasized, adding that Ukrainian agricultural producers will be able to harvest 29.26 million tons of grain in the new season.

At the same time, corn exports in the MY 2025/26 will increase to 24 million tons. That is, 3 million tons more than in the previous season.
