China was the main buyer of Ukrainian corn starch in September
2.9 KMT of Ukrainian corn starch was exported in September (-22% from August, +11% from September 2020/21). Indonesia – a traditional buyer in recent seasons – made no purchase of Ukrainian corn starch in September.
At the same time, the top importer in September was China, which purchased 17 times as much as in September 2020, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The EU slashed purchases by 39% from last season.
Nigeria, which became the fourth biggest importer of Ukrainian corn starch in MY 2020/21, continues to buy it actively this season – the country’s export share grew to 23%.
