Chad temporarily zeroes grain import duties

The Chadian government has exempted imports of certain food products from duties and taxes until December 31, 2025. The relevant decree of the country’s Ministry of Finance, Budget, Economy and Planning was published and entered into force on February 5.
The list of products that will be subject to preferential treatment includes cereals (wheat, corn, sorghum, millet, rice), cereal flour and semolina. The government’s initiative is expected to help increase imports, reduce the cost of purchasing grain and improve access to it on the domestic market.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
