Canola processing in Canada hits new high in MY 2023/24
Last month at oil extraction plants in Canada was processed about 898 thousand tons of canola, analysts of the Hamburg agency OilWorld (Germany) calculated. According to experts’ estimates, the current figure is 39 thousand tons behind the January level, but 86 thousand tons higher than in February 2023.
“Thus, the total volume of processing of Canadian oilseeds since the beginning of the season reached a record 6.4 million tons compared to 5.7 million tons in August-February 2022/23 MY”, – stressed the agency.
It also records a decrease in exports of Canadian canola in the current season. “In particular, as of March 17, 1.1 million tons were shipped, compared to 1.9 million tons in the corresponding period a year earlier,” OilWorld (Germany) added.
