Brazil’s sugar production expected to increase in 2025/26
According to international analysts, in the new 2025/26 season, sugar production is expected to increase in Central-South Brazil.
According to Datagro, in the new 2025/26 season, sugar mills in Central-South Brazil will process 612 million tons of sugar cane, which is 1.4% less than in the 2024/25 season. At the same time, in the next season, sugar production is expected to increase to 42.35 million tons as a result of an increase in the share of cane directed to sugar production to 51%.
According to StoneX analysts, in the new 2025/26 season in the Central-South region of Brazil, sugar production will increase by 4% and reach 41.7 million tons, while Hedgepoint predicts an increase in production by 8% – to 43.3 million tons. In the new season, the volume of sugarcane processing is projected to be between 608 and 630 million tons, according to various estimates.
The 2025/26 sugarcane processing season in Central-South Brazil officially begins on April 1.
