Brazilian businessman buys US egg producer

Global Eggs, a company owned by Brazilian businessman Ricardo Faria, has agreed to buy US egg producer Hillandale Farms for $1.1 billion, Reuters reported.
Global Eggs is based in Luxembourg and also operates Granja Faria in Brazil.
Faria said the deal was not related to a shortage of eggs in the US caused by bird flu, which has pushed up prices and increased imports from the US to Brazil.
Often called the “Egg King”, Faria expressed confidence that global egg consumption will continue to grow.
“We are looking at the world, and mainly at the Western world,” he said.
Faria founded Global Eggs last year and in November the company made its first international acquisition, acquiring Spain’s Grupo Hevo.
He said the combined revenue of Hillandale, Hevo and Granja Faria in 2024 exceeded $2 billion.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
