Brazil raises January soybean and corn export outlook
Brazil’s National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) raised its January soybean export estimate to 3.79 million tonnes, up 1.6% from last week’s projection and more than triple the volume shipped in January 2025 (1.12 million tonnes).
Corn export expectations were also lifted to 3.45 million tonnes, a 5.5% increase week on week and 8.5% higher than a year earlier. Soymeal exports were left unchanged at 1.82 million tonnes, up 10.8% from January 2025.
In contrast, Anec cut its January wheat export forecast to 329,700 tonnes, down 4.6% from the previous estimate and 50% lower than the volume shipped a year earlier.
For Jan. 18–24, most soybean shipments are expected through Paranaguá, Santos and Itacoatiara, while corn loadings are led by Santos, Santarém and Barcarena. Soymeal exports are mainly concentrated at Rio Grande, Santos and Aratu/Cotegipe.
Overall exports of soybeans, soymeal, corn and wheat from Brazil in January are estimated at 9.40 million tonnes, up 2.5% from last week’s forecast and 42% higher year on year, with Anec noting that volumes remain subject to change due to weather, logistics and port operations.
