It is reported by Reuters.
Brazil has been facing prolonged dry weather in many regions, affecting crops like sugarcane. In recent months, fires raging across the country have further worried farmers.
Raizen CEO Ricardo Mussa told that his biggest concern for now is next year’s crop, as he fears the current drought could last for much longer.
«We are looking at how the weather will be in November, December and January», — he said.
Mussa added that a potentially prolonged drought over the next months could exacerbate the negative effects from the fires, which, he said, have not impacted current Raizen cycle materially for now.
