Bangladesh approves proposal for G2G wheat procurement, shortening procurement time in tenders

The Bangladesh government has approved a proposal for procurement of wheat under the G2G model to meet the growing domestic demand under Section 68 (1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2006 and Section 76 (2) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008, The Business Standard reported.
The government has also decided to reduce the time frame for procurement of wheat through international tenders under Section 83 (1) (Ka) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008.
The decision was taken on May 20 at the 15th meeting of the Consultative Committee on Bangladesh Economic Affairs (ACCEA).
