Australian wheat exports fall in February

According to information provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australian wheat exports totaled 2.09 million tonnes in February of this year. This amount is lower than the 2.29 million tonnes shipped in February of the previous year, 2024. It is noted that 52.5 thousand tonnes of durum wheat were shipped to Algeria, as reported by Grain Central.
Of the total export volume, 200.9 thousand tonnes of grain were shipped in containers. The main destinations for container shipments were Thailand (42.7 thousand tonnes), Vietnam (33.6 thousand tonnes) and Indonesia (30.3 thousand tonnes).
The majority of exports, namely 1.88 million tonnes, were shipped in bulk. The largest importers of wheat shipped in bulk were the Philippines (460.9 thousand tonnes), Indonesia (307.2 thousand tonnes) and Thailand (306.4 thousand tonnes).
According to analysts at Lachstock Consulting, Australia’s wheat exports could reach 2.39 million tonnes in March, with further growth forecast for April to 2.53 million tonnes.
