Argentina’s sunseed harvest in the 2024/25 season will be a record 4.7 million tons
Argentina’s 2024/25 sunseed crop is expected to reach a record 4.7 million tons, up 200,000 tons from its previous estimate, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange said Thursday.
The upward revision came after plantings of the crop were larger than previously estimated, the exchange said.
Argentina is a major exporter of sunflower oil.
In its April forecast, the USDA estimated Argentina’s sunflower production at 4.2 million tons and sunflower oil exports for the 2024/25 season at 1.15 million tons.
FOB Argentina sunflower oil prices this week were $1,115-1,125 (+$15) for the week.
