Argentina reports slow soybean harvest

21% of soybean crops are in poor and very poor condition.
According to the monitoring of the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, as of April 9, soybean harvesting in Argentina has been completed on 2.6% of the planned area, while on the reporting date of the previous year this figure reached 10.6%.
As specified, 21% of soybean crops are in poor and very poor condition (23% – a week earlier; 25% – a year earlier), 42 (41; 45)% are in satisfactory condition, and 37 (36%; 30)% are in good and excellent condition.
It is also noted that in the north of La Pampa province and in the west of Buenos Aires, crops were partially damaged by frost, but the losses will be assessed in the coming days. The average soybean yield at the moment is 3.54 t/ha. The country’s soybean harvest forecast remains at 48 million tons.
