Argentina raises soybean area forecast

Argentina’s Ministry of Agriculture has raised its forecast for the soybean sowing area for the 2024 crop by 0.1 million hectares to 16.7 million hectares.
The increase in the forecast was influenced by recent rainfall in the areas where soybean sowing is underway. Harvesting of the new soybean crop will begin in April.
The ministry left unchanged its estimate of corn sowing area – 10.4 million hectares, which is 1% less than last year. Already sown 69% of the planned area. Corn harvesting will begin in February.
