Argentina expects an even bigger record wheat crop
Analysts at the Rosario Grains Exchange have raised Argentina’s wheat production forecast to 24.5 million tons, surpassing both last month’s estimate and the previous record of 23 million tons set four years ago, Reuters reports.
The upward revision is based on expectations of higher-than-previously-forecast yields. Favorable conditions, including above-average rainfall during critical growth stages and significant investments by farmers in advanced seed quality and disease management, are driving these projections.
For corn and soybean production in Argentina for the 2025/26 season, the exchange has kept its forecasts unchanged at 61 million tons and 47 million tons, respectively.
The stronger-than-expected wheat harvest could limit potential price gains, as the record output adds more supply to global markets, reinforcing Argentina’s position as a major wheat exporter.
