Almost three-quarters of the spring wheat area in the US has been threshed

By August 31, American farmers had threshed 72% of the area under spring wheat. The harvesting rate is ahead of last year and the five-year average. This was reported by the Zerno On-Line agency with reference to the National Agricultural Statistical Service of the US Department of Agriculture (NASS).
According to the forecasts of the US Department of Agriculture, the gross harvest of winter and spring wheat this year will amount to 52.445 million tons, which is lower than last year’s level (53.6 million tons), but higher than the five-year average.
The condition of soybean crops worsened last week. The share of crops in good and excellent condition decreased to 65% (69% the week before and 65% a year ago).
The share of corn crops in good and excellent condition remains equal to 69%. A year ago, this figure was 65%.
