Almost 6 million hectares of winter crops sown in Ukraine

As of the end of November, almost 6 million hectares of winter crops were sown in Ukraine as part of the sowing campaign. In particular, winter grains are planted on 4 mln 798 thou hectares, including 4 mln 162 thou hectares of wheat, 559 thou hectares of barley and 77.2 thou hectares of rye. The weekly increase of the grain area amounted to 193.2 hectares. The amount of winter grains planted is close to last year’s figures.
Odesa (486 thou hectares), Dnipro (474.2 thou hectares) and Mykolaiv (325 thou hectares) regions are the leaders in wheat planting. Rye was sown mostly in Volyn (15 thou hectares), Rivne (12.4 thou hectares) and Chernihiv (12 thou hectares). The largest areas of barley are in Odesa (154 thou hectares) and Mykolaiv (112 thou hectares).
Winter rapeseed sowing has been completed. As a reminder, 1 mln 164 thou hectares were planted.
