All regions of Ukraine have started sowing spring crops
All regions have started sowing spring crops in the government-controlled areas.
Thus, all categories of farms sowed 500 thousand hectares of grain and pulses crops, including:
- spring wheat – 107.7 thou hectares
- spring barley – 307.4 thou hectares;
- peas – 57.7 thou hectares;
- oats – 26.4 thou hectares.
Most of the grain and pulses were sown in Ternopil region – 94.7 thou hectares, Vinnytsia region – 74.3 hectares, and Khmelnytsky region – 60.8 hectares.
Over the past week, 207 thou hectares of grain and pulses were sown, with Ternopil region leading the way with 27.1 thou hectares.
Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy regions have started sowing sugar beet. Vinnytsia region is in the lead with 15.3 thou hectares.
Farmers in Odesa, Khmelnytsky and Bukovyna regions have started sowing sunflower.
