Algeria purchased a large shipment of durum wheat

On December 18, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC held a tender for the purchase of at least 50 thousand tons of durum wheat of random origin. This was reported by Zerno On-line agency with reference to European traders.
According to different estimates, 350-500 thousand tons of wheat was purchased. The price amounted to about $340 C&F for delivery on Panamax class vessels and about $350-352 C&F for smaller shipments to be delivered on Handymax class vessels.
Traders say the winning bidder was Canada Western Amber Durum (CWAD). They also suggest that some wheat has been purchased from the US and Australia.
Under the terms of the tender, shipment will take place in March-April 2025
