Algeria holds tenders for the purchase of wheat and barley

On November 21, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC held tenders for the purchase of at least 50 thsd tonnes of soft wheat and 50 thsd tonnes of feed barley. It was reported by Reuters.
According to preliminary data, the wheat was purchased at the price of $277 per ton on the basis of c&f, barley – for $219-$224 per ton on the basis of c&f.
Under the terms of the tender, wheat is scheduled for delivery in December 2023 – February 2024 to the ports of Mostaganem and/or Tenes, barley – in January – February 2024. Delivery will take place one month earlier than the above periods if the grain originates in South America.
