Algeria’s state agency OAIC has purchased 360 to 400 thousand tons of milling wheat at an international tender. The suppliers are expected to be Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine. The price was $262-263 per tonne CIF.
The uncertainty about the volume of contracts remains, as the exact amount of wheat sold by each company remains unknown. Initially, Algeria planned to purchase 550-600 thsd tonnes of wheat, but the actual volume of contracts was less. This creates uncertainty about the final procurement estimates.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 22nd International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN. EUROPE-2025 on February 13 – 14 in Prague.
