Algeria announced a tender for the purchase of wheat

Algerian state company OAIC on October 31 will hold a tender for the purchase of at least 50 thousand tons of soft wheat of random origin. This is reported by Zerno On-line agency with reference to European traders. The shipment will take place from December 1 to 15 and from December 16 to 31, or a month earlier than the specified periods in case of delivery from South America or Australia.
Algeria excluded French companies from its previous wheat tender and required other bidders not to offer French wheat, apparently a consequence of renewed diplomatic tensions between Algeria and Paris.
Traders said the tender could also provide a clearer picture of the impact of Russia’s unofficial minimum export price for wheat, introduced to curb domestic flour and bread prices. Algeria announces wheat tender.
