AD Ports Group and Louis Dreyfus Company have agreed to establish a grain terminal in the Pakistani port of Karachi

AD Ports Group announced that Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML, part of Noatum Ports) and Louis Dreyfus Company Pakistan have signed a long-term agreement to construct and operate a modern bulk agricultural cargo handling and storage terminal at the Port of Karachi, Emirates News Agency reports.

KGTML is investing in the design and construction of a highly efficient food-grade terminal, complete with a handling system, conveyor line, infrastructure, and utilities. Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has committed to handling dry agricultural cargo at the new facility. AD Ports Group clarified that the investment is in addition to the previously announced $75 million allocated for the first phase of KGTML’s development.

According to the companies, the new terminal will reduce cargo handling time, improve logistics resilience, and ensure product storage quality in accordance with international standards.

AD Ports Group is also developing the KGTL container terminal at the Port of Karachi. The company noted that Pakistan plays a strategic role as a transport hub on the Middle Corridor between China and Europe.
