EU exported almost 22 mln tons of grain

During the thirty-week period of the current season, which began on July 1, 2025, EU countries exported 21.982 million tons of grain and grain products, 16% more than during the same period in the 2024/2025 season.

The main destinations for soft wheat exports this season were: Morocco (2,257,300 t), Saudi Arabia (2,257,300 t), Arabia (961,900 tonnes), Egypt (908,800 tonnes), Nigeria (670,500 tonnes), and Algeria (662,100 tonnes).

The largest barley buyers were: Saudi Arabia (1,327,200 tonnes), China (887,500 tonnes), Jordan (584,800 tonnes), Algeria (448,200 tonnes), and Turkey (440,900 tonnes).

*French export data for the beginning of the 2024 calendar year is incomplete. Bulgarian and Irish export data for the beginning of the 2023/24 season is incomplete. Export data for Poland is unavailable since October 2025. The European Commission is currently investigating the reasons for the unusually high volumes of Romanian durum wheat exports in the 2025/26 season.
