A vessel with 16 tons of Ukrainian grain was inspected in Istanbul

The Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul continues to work within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, and today a ship with 16,000 tons of wheat bound for Afghanistan was inspected.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense reported this on Twitter.

“The Joint Coordination Center continues scheduled and safe shipments of Ukrainian grain. The inspection of the Maltese-flagged M/V ANHTEIA, which is carrying 16 thousand tons of wheat for Afghanistan, was carried out near Istanbul, in the Zeytinburnu area,” the statement said.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in January, the number of ships leaving Ukrainian ports was 2.7, which means an average of 2-3 ships per day. This is one of the lowest figures for all the months of the “grain initiative”, which is due to the artificial blocking of the grain corridor by Russian inspectors.
