Russia’s Ag Ministry may resume the mechanism of subsidies for oilseed growers
The Ag Ministry suggests amending the rules for granting and distributing subsidies to stimulate growth in oilseed production. It is planned to support not only soybean and rapeseed producers, but also sunflower growers, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Now farmers can obtain subsidies per ton of the product marketed or shipped to own crushing facilities. It is proposed to pay the money per ton of total oilseed crop.
The use of state-approved oilseed varieties and the application of necessary fertilizers will be mandatory requirements for obtaining the subsidy.
