Russia boosted corn exports to Iran by 56%
According to preliminary information from trade sources, Russia exported 1.4 MMT of corn in September-February 2018/19 (including the Customs Union), or 48.5% less than in the same period last.
Iran became the biggest importer of Russian corn in the reporting period, when it increased purchases to 841.5 KMT (up 55.5% year-on-year), reports UkrAgroConsult. The European Union climbed to the second position in terms of imported volumes: shipments to this destination rose by 160.9% this season.
At the same time, Russia boosted corn supplies to Belarus (66.8 KMT, or up 160.9% from September-February 2017/18) and Azerbaijan (44.1 KMT, or up 72.8%).
Turkey, last season’s top importer, slashed purchases of Russian corn in September-February 2018/19 by 87.6%.
