Record wheat exports relative to the crop

Ukrainian wheat exports in August and September were quite high for this time period – at 3.7 MMT. Similar volumes were shipped abroad in 2019, but last year’s crop was much larger.
The rapid pace of exports was contributed to by brisk foreign demand – importers were stockpiling grain ahead of the second wave of coronavirus.
This season’s wheat exports from Ukraine had totaled almost 11 MMT (down 8% on the year), UkrAgroConsult reports.
The main buyer is still Indonesia, which increased its share in Ukrainian wheat exports to 19%.
