Mongolia’s harvest performance exceeded last year’s values

Монголия

More than 260 thousand tons of grain has been harvested in Mongolia to date, news.mn reported on October 15 with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Mongolia.

The report notes that more than 262 thousand tons of grain, 95.2 thousand tons of potatoes, 121 thousand tons of vegetables and 403 thousand tons of hay have been harvested.

The grain harvest has increased by 200 thousand tons compared to the same period last year. It is pointed out that this is due to the increase in farming under the New Cooperative Movement and the early start of harvesting, due to the fact that an early cold snap is expected.

According to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, as of October 1, 2024, the country has cultivated 286,900 hectares of land, an increase of 8,300 hectares or 3% over the same period last year.
