Kazakhstan increased linseed exports to the EU by 52%

This year saw the highest ever April linseed exports from Kazakhstan, which totaled 38 KMT.

Linseed exports in September-April 2018/19 were the highest at 404.6 KMT. This rise was accounted for by growth in the crop: Kazakhstan harvested more than 1 MMT of linseed for the first time ever, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The EU continues to be the biggest importer with a market share of 78%. Its purchases are up almost 52% from last year.

MY 2018/19 witnessed the return of countries such as Estonia, Finland, Denmark to the ranks of importers.

Growth in exports was observed to Afghanistan (+2.8%), Uzbekistan (+18.6%). Mongolia increased purchases almost ten times.

A slowdown in exports was noticed to Turkey (-89%) and Iran (-76%).
