Kazakh sunflower oil exports hit a record high due to demand from neighbors
Sunflower oil exports from Kazakhstan in MY 2019/20 hit a record high of 113.6 KMT (+43% on the year), UkrAgroConsult reports.
In the last three months of the season, exports exceeded 12 KMT due to a surge in purchases by Uzbekistan, to 5-6 KMT a month, and steady demand from China at 3-5 KMT a month. July exports hit an all-time high of over 12.4 KMT.
China is the biggest importer (48% of total exports, up 89% from MY 2018/19).
Accelerated exports were registered to the following countries: Japan (+251%), Afghanistan (+225%), Uzbekistan (+54%).
A slowdown in exports was observed to: Belgium (-79%), Germany (-75%) and the Netherlands (-55%).
