2019/20 flour exports from Kazakhstan hit a 12-year low
Exports of Kazakh flour in the whole season totaled of 1.48 MMT (-12% from MY 2018/19, -27% from the five-year average, the lowest since MY 2007/08), UkrAgroConsult reports.
97.7 KMT was exported in August (-24% from July, +3% from August 2018/19).
The top importer in recent years is Afghanistan, which purchased 65% of total flour exports from Kazakhstan. Tajikistan is the only buyer that stepped up purchases (more than twice higher than in MY 2018/19).
Demand from other importers weakened compared to last season: Turkmenistan (-9%), Afghanistan (-13%), Uzbekistan (-23%), China (-58%).
